Lyrics!
Words to pay heed to...

And the internal battle goes a little something like this...

To see how Love sees

Invites in: brightness, beauty, communication, peace, harmony

To do what fear would do - is it really unclear to which to pay heed to? Listen...

And I know how to feel happy

'No, you don't'

I could turn away from fear now

'But you won't'

If you want to follow truth but this voice is so mean

Just look across the sea, and breathe

Greed breeds greed

Something you're not giving is what you won't receive

Leave old baggage at the door

Surrounding truth in drama is not what life is for

And I know how to feel happy

'No, you don't'

I could turn away from fear now

'But you won't'

If you want to follow truth but this voice is so mean

Just look across the sea, and breathe

Think of everyone who's cheering for you

If you alter your perception there's nothing that you can't do, my friend

I know because now I am clear

In choosing love over fear

Under the ancestral willow tree, there in my mind

Everyone is proud of me, I'm compassionate and kind

A synthesis of ideas and intent

As I make the ascent

And I feel so very tired now

'You've lived for so long

If you listen to this voice, well, you can't go wrong'

And I've lived so many lives now

'Hold on, you'll see'

In this life I'm finally free

'And I've got so much to tell you'

So much to learn

'Happiness it is a practice, a skill to discern

Should you live 100 years, love, you've so much time to illuminate your mind'

Anything that is not peaceful is not love

Anything that is not love is not peaceful

Choose your thoughts wisely

How did Lupa in the Blue Lagoon come to be?

What on Earth is Lupa in the Blue Lagoon?

Well, it's not exactly on Earth. Lupa is a mix of the names Lula (my beloved old dog who passed on), Cooper (my current beloved dog), and Luna, as in, the moon. The blue lagoon is a place, a place within a place. Within the Garden of Eden of my mind. A place, a plane, a heavenly plane where all my ancestors, past selves who have been acknowledged and freed, younger selves, dead friends etc reside. I often go there in meditation. I close my eyes in this dimension and open them there, sitting with my back to a tree.

The scene is so clear. There's a stream, many flowers, rich green grass, willow trees, crystal riverbanks. While this song was coming brewing inside, I discovered a hidden lagoon within the garden. And who was hiding there but a past version of me, a teenage version. Oh how she was waiting for me to acknowledge her. This song is the process of me freeing this past version of myself. The conversation you'll read in the choruses are reminiscent of the noise that was in my head when I was younger. Such vile voices saying such vile things. The absolute overwhelming confusion of it all. No surprise I resented this song as it was being made - I just wanted to be done with it. Now it is one of my favourites.

The lagoon still exists but Lupa (teenage me) no longer resides there, at least not all the time. She is free to enjoy the rest of the Garden. Other members of the Garden use the lagoon for playful purposes. The darkness, the heaviness, has been lifted.
